Twenty years ago, London Elektricity unleashed one of the most seminal drum & bass albums into the world. ‘Billion Dollar Gravy’ was Tony Colman’s second longplayer, following the iconic debut project ‘Pull The Plug’ released in 1999. Widely acclaimed and well-respected for a multitude of reasons - from the iconic album artwork of Tony holding the ‘Billion Dollar Gravy’ picket sign, to revolutionary anthems such as album title-track ‘Billion Dollar Gravy’, ‘Different Drum’ and ‘Fast Soul Music’, two decades on, the album is revisited with a fresh sonic injection. ‘Billion Dollar Remixes’ is a meticulously crafted project which aligns a selection of some of the finest drum & bass talent with the album originals, making way for the likes of Watch The Ride, Whiney & Unglued, Mozey, Dogger & Mindstate, Zero T, Kimyan Law, Bop x Subwave, imo-Lu, Hugh Hardie and Conrad Subs to put their spin on the 2003 classics.

Stepping up to the plate for remix duties on drum & bass classic ‘Cum Dancing’ is the one and only Mozey, who has continuously taken the scene by storm with his high octane selection of releases on imprints such as Souped Up, Liquid V, and Hospital Records. His modernised jump up style has seen him pave the way for a new generation of artists, with this remix offering a playful spin on the already infectious original through resonant basslines and crunch-packed drumwork.

‘Life Is Beautiful’ is a tasteful modern reinterpretation of Billion Dollar Gravy album original track ‘The Great Drum + Bass Swindle’, and in true London Elektricity fashion has been flipped on its head completely courtesy of soul-drenched piano phrases which allure delicately to the original vocal cuts. 

Showcasing a skill he is known best for, London Elektricity’s carefully curated remix album pays homage to two decades of his iconic second longplayer sees a melting pot of influences and styles. You’ll be able to catch London Elektricity performing a ‘20 Years of Billion Dollar Gravy’ set at Hospitality Printworks on 15th April, as well as a special 5-hour set at Hospitality On The Beach in Tisno, Croatia this July.
