Fresh from linking up with Zara Kershaw on ‘Blush’ last year, Hugh Hardie returns to Soulvent with a more high-octane offering to start 2023 with ‘Face Off’ - featuring the dazzling vocal talents of PAV4N, of Foreign Beggars fame. Putting in the groundwork for what stands to be an absolutely stunning third album, we’re firmly reminded of Hugh’s rising star and technical wizardry in this latest collaboration. 

‘Face Up’ boasts a more techy, driven feel than its more liquid-infused predecessor. Surging, foreboding synths and a sense of unease kick off proceedings before PAV4N’s motivated, adrenaline-filled lyrics supercharge Hugh’s rolling beats. The resulting techy-stepper propels the listener into a positive headspace, a perfect way to start the new year.
