Lose yourself amongst immersive spatial audio technologies as a handpicked selection of tracks from his latest album come to life through precision-cut 22-channel Dolby Atmos studio software mixed by Etherwood, with the listener’s experience at the heart and soul of the process.
The release will receive a special live showcase on Monday 29th November 2022 at an exclusive West London location where attendees will get to experience a 6-track synchronised visual exploration of both real-world and motion graphic art to accompany a selection of tracks from Etherwood’s album in an audiovisual showcase mixed in Dolby Atmos, followed by a guided meditation and Q&A session. In his own words, “this LP is much more self explorative, based largely around experiences I had whilst meditating. Most of the album was written in a small beach hut in Cornwall, England. The term ‘neon dust’ describes the essence of the world I was in whilst making the album.” With the film being creatively curated by Cal Bain (Wide Eyed) in collaboration with Etherwood, the visual concept is a further exploration into the meaning behind ‘Neon Dust’.
‘Dahlia’ starts off the EP with chilling chord progressions which are perfectly intertwined with Etherwood’s signature melodies. The second track ‘Lighthouse’ featuring Zara Kershaw is a liquid ballad laced with soulful vocals and an irresistible amen break granting drum and bass fans a heartwarming sing-along anthem.
On ‘Follow The River’ Etherwood’s other musical influences such as indie, folk and alternative pop shine through. Etherwood heads into slower territories with Queensland, Australia based Lily Budiasa who also fronts the ambient-folk band TH’FIKA. The calming yet upbeat ‘Akasha’ takes us into sonic bliss with pacing synth work and inviting melodies showcasing Etherwood’s multi-instrumentalist nature.
Stepping away from drum and bass on ‘We Shine Amongst The Lights’, expect a skippy rock ballad drenched in Etherwood’s signature dreamlike harmonies. __Closing the ‘Neon Dust In Atmos’ EP is the deeper liquid ballad ‘Into Oblivion’ with enchanting ambient soundscapes and harmonious vocals from Etherwood.
