Taking a step back from the usual drum & bass tip, Hospital Records put forward a four-track collection delivering fresh takes on already popular tracks from longstanding Hospital practitioners S.P.Y and Nu:Tone. With an impressive influx of remixes over past months the House Remixes EP draws together the standout handy-work of Sandy Rivera, Shadow Child, Aaron Beko and Takao.
Best known for his chart-topping track “Finally” as released under alter-ego Kings of Tomorrow, well-established house pioneer Sandy Rivera switches up Nu:Tone’s “Til Dawn” with a fresh and funk-ridden remix. Alongside is Dirtybird break-through, Shadow Child who has put his distinctive touch on S.P.Y and Total Science’s “Guidance” with a progressive house rework.
Introducing Aaron Beko as the winner of our latest remix competition, presenting his turnaround of Nu:Tone’s “Lightning”, taken from fourth studio album, “Future History”. By incorporating Nu:Tone’s rhythmic and catchy bass-line his remix maintains the essence of the track all the while establishing a new identity as a down-tempo tech-house banger.
Runner up of our S.P.Y remix competition is Takao with his take on S.P.Y’s “Dusty Fingers”. Infusing an infection bass-line with catchy vocals looped throughout he has managed to transform the quintessential S.P.Y elements into a fully-fledged deep house, dance-floor filler.
