Hospital Records is 10 years young! So to help mark the occasion, we've put together eight of the label's finest for a mega-soundclash, across not one, but two slices of prime vinyl. The full spectrum of Hospital sound is represented here - from the warm summer vibes of Nu:Tone & Syncopix, to the grinding synth-scapes of High Contrast & Logistics. Along with the NHS100CD and the limited 7inch repress of NHS1 this is every Hospital fans dream!
A) High Contrast vs Logistics “If I Could” Matt Logistics is a busy boy right now, teaming up with Welsh film buff High Contrast here for a widescreen epic. Big, big intro tune, with gnarly synths, grinding reeces and a tasty drop, it's sure to be tearing up the Fabric system this winter. An emotional powerhouse, and with these to producers collaborating u know it's not gonna be standard fare– some next level action!
B) Syncopix vs Nu:Tone “Upgrade” Warm vintage tones and weighty B-Line action, epitomize the production dream team that is Syncopix and Nu:Tone. The collab was kicked off when Nu:Tone made a stop off in Hamburg on a recent German tour, and was brought back to the UK to be given a heavyweight mixdown in his Cambridge Lab.
C) London Elektricity vs Logistics “Search Engine” Logistics and Elektricity team up for some classic fast-soul action. “Search Engine” sounds like a long-lost Hospital nugget unearthed and rubbed down 2006 style. Guaranteed to put a grin on the face of any true NHS fan, and any discerning dancefloor!
D) Q-Project vs Cyantific “11th Hour” Flip the script once more 2 more artists who are hot for 2006! Since the massive “Don't Follow” featuring Diane Charlemagne, and with their album ready to drop in the spring, Cyantific have moved into the big league. And what is there to say about the man genius that is Q Project which hasn't been said already? “Eleventh Hour” is a bouncing bassline bubbler. With trademark Cyantific quirkyness and that grinding Q Project groove which has been taking over d&b dancefloors of late!
