Committed to showcasing the very best up and coming drum & bass talent, Hospital Records proudly present their brand new ÔFuture SymptomsÕ release series. Served in doses of 4-track EPs, the A&R squad have been hard at work finding fresh sounds and unique styles from the next generation of artists. Coming through to make their mark on ÔFuture Symptoms Vol.1Õ are Winslow, Mozey and Shady Novelle, Villem and Alpha Rhythm, Zeitgeist and Nia Archives. Following up from his releases on Mitekiss & Mr PorterÕs Goldfat imprint and Pilot Records, rapid rank-riser Winslow sets things in motion with ÔAmoreÕ which sees delicate pianos and trinkling ride cymbals flourish into a jazz-infused drum & bass masterpiece. Snappy drums and WinslowÕs very own vocals flare into the limelight as he proves why heÕs quickly progressing from one to watch to a staple of the scene. With releases on Liquid V, Souped Up, and Serial Killaz, Mozey steps up alongside Shady Novelle with ÔSometimesÕ. This floaty stepper warmed by Shady NovelleÕs vocals soon turns dark and dangerous when a fizzling bassline and unruly drumwork take hold. This isnÕt the first time this duo have done damage in the studio - their release on DJ ZincÕs Bingo Bass imprint received support from Rene LaVice on BBC Radio 1 in 2020. Drum & bass master Villem paired up with one of his promising production students Alpha Rhythm, who hosts his very own drum & bass podcast which racks up thousands of weekly views. ÔThe MakerÕ is a treat for the senses - blissfully atmospheric and equipped with hypnotic arpeggios and soothing pads, this one is for the deep liquid heads. Promising musical talent Zeitgeist and V RecordingsÕ EQ50 mentee, singer-songwriter Nia Archives lay down unparalleled vibes on ÔMove OnÕ, as upbeat guitar strums and feel-good trumpets pave the way for meticulously crafted breakbeats and a hefty upright bassline. With both Zeitgeist and Nia Archives claiming a healthy selection of self-releases, thereÕs no doubt these two will be at the forefront of drum and bassÕ next generation. The future of drum & bass is looking stronger than ever. Hospital RecordsÕ latest ÔFuture SymptomsÕ release series offers an insight into the ever-expanding community, shining a spotlight on budding talents and future stars. DonÕt sleep on these names!
